Take Action to Protect LGBTQ People in Your State
In 2023, more anti-LGBTQ bills have been filed by lawmakers around the country than in any recent years. Over 500 anti-LGBTQ bills are pending, approximately 300 of which specifically target transgender Americans and youth.
Lawmakers and governors in Utah, South Dakota, and Mississippi have all already passed and signed anti-transgender health care bans. In addition, in just early March, the Tennessee governor signed a similar anti-transgender health care ban, as well as a bill imposing heavy restrictions and penalties on drag artists and performances - the first law of its kind in the nation.
It's easy to feel helpless and hopeless as legislators seek to impose restrictions and bans on our rights. But the truth is we have power. A supermajority of Americans support nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ People; and last year, more than 90% of anti-LGBTQ bills that were filed failed to advance and become law.
Our voices matter. Sign this form to email your legislators right now to express your opposition to blanket bans on our community's freedoms. Even better, call and leave a voicemail expressing your thoughts so legislators can hear directly from their constituents.
GLAAD's research shows that the more people who know an LGBTQ person personally, the more support there is for our protections. Let's make sure our lawmakers hear from us and know where we stand.
