Virtually, on Monday, September 30, 2024, beginning at 12:00 PM ET / 9:00 AM PT, the Queer Equity Institute (QEI) and GLAAD will lead a virtual press briefing on the politicization of the transgender community. This briefing will spread awareness on the undercurrent of hate being used by community opponents to radicalize and mobilize voters, and what that means for the safety and security of the transgender community. Speakers will share personal experiences, data, and larger trends on the bigotry lobbied against the transgender community, and speak to what the community is doing to create space for themselves and combat these attacks.
