About Spirit Day

#SpiritDay is the world’s leading anti-bullying movement, supporting LGBTQ youth, particularly transgender and nonbinary individuals, to live authentically. On Thursday, October 17th, GLAAD will unite celebrities, media, brands, landmarks, and more to go purple and promote LGBTQ visibility and support.

Despite rising LGBTQ acceptance, discrimination and bullying are also increasing. With the current climate of bans and anti-LGBTQ sentiment, America’s youth needs our support more than ever. #SpiritDay is a chance to show acceptance and support for LGBTQ youth.

Take the #SpiritDay pledge to go purple on October 17th and demonstrate your support. Learn more at glaad.org/spiritday and follow @glaad on social media.
